Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse celebrates 15 years

Outwrite Bookstore - Coffeehouse celebrates its 15th birthday today and will have drinks and a DJ spinning music to celebrate the milestone.
The gay bookstore opened in a small space in 1993 and is now a Midtown icon located at 10th and Piedmont where people gay and jfk space center straight come to gather for booksfood and conversation.
Outwrite's 15th birthday celebration also happens to fall on a national day of protest against California's Proposition 8 and local activists opposed to the measure that bans gay marriage will be gathering at 10thPiedmont at 5:30 p.m. for a candlelight vigil.
